This year’s biggest understatement, courtesy of MO state Rep. Trent Skaggs:
To be honest, I think it’s a little delusional.
That was Skaggs discussing “findings” amongst ten Republican members of the state legislature that abortion and welfare are the cause of immigration. We applaud Skaggs for having the patience and overall tact to not proclaim this finding “batshit insane” as, having no responsibility to the public discourse, we now do right here.

Now that the initial shock and awe have worn off, the reality of yesterday’s news has had time to digest. And along with the joy and hope for the future, there is fear. Fear of the countless, smug, annoying emails we’ll be receiving from moveon.org and other liberal canvas types for the next six months. So please, if any of you are reading this, leave us all alone, ESPECIALLY those of us who are happy for you. Just be happy. And for the love of god, quiet.
On the plus side, Fox News has already started finding new distractions to report.

Republican control of government ends AND Rumsfeld steps down. No joke today, just wanted to say that, for the first time in the past six years, I actually feel optimistic.
