Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a man now notorious for not only saying the wrong thing but calling a press conference to do it, today announced that Israel should move to Europe:

“If European countries claim that they have killed Jews in World War II… why don’t they provide the Zionist regime with a piece of Europe,” Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told Iranian television. “Germany and Austria can provide the… regime with two or three provinces for this regime to establish itself, and the issue will be resolved.”

This may seem drastic, but keep in mind that Ahmadinejad had called for Israel to be whiped off the face of the earth in October, so in retrospect it’s actually rather progressive. Ahmadinejad does win the “irony award” this week, as statements like these come amidst his demands that the UN show some compassion and understanding towards Iran’s nuclear power program…
